Hello TCVS families!
My name is Jorge Rojas. I am in my four years of teaching. I am strongly passionate about teaching history and enjoy coaching cybersecurity. Furthermore, I have taught computer science for two years.
During my first year as a teacher, I taught 6th-grade math CPM, and history for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. In my second year, I taught computer science and was actively involved in IT & ICT. Also, I coached a team that won first place for the best cybersecurity Middle-School in the Far North Region in 2019.
I’m actively involved with the community by participating in events and programs that help children’s education. I was part of the yearly ACADECA event as a judge where we give students feedback for public speaking and how to construct arguments. I was also involved in the yearly National History Day, where we judge projects as they take a chance of learning history from a topic of their interest. I also participate every year with teams I coach for cybersecurity in CyberPatriot, Cyber Innovation Challenge (San Luis Obispo), and the California Mayors Cup.
My hobbies are playing classical guitar, graphic design, and hiking.
Thank you for the warm welcome and I look forward to the school year!
