State Testing May 6-9

State Testing THIS WEEK

Yes folks, it's that time again: State Testing is upon us! We will continue this year's round of CAASPP Testing tomorrow with English Language Arts. Students will continue with ELA on Tuesday, finishing with Math tests Wednesday and Thursday.

The following are a few suggestions and tips to help make the process go as smoothly as possible. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please let us know!
  • Attendance is VERY Important: This is always true, but especially so in the coming weeks. Please make sure your student is present and on time each day this week! Students will not be admitted to the classroom once testing has begun, so tardy students may find themselves in the office all day!
  • Eat Healthy & Sleep Well: Please encourage your student to get a good night's sleep tonight, and each night this week. A hearty, healthy breakfast will also help them on their tests. Snack time will also be one HOUR later than normal, so breakfast is a big deal this week!
  • Parent Volunteers: Obviously we love having you in our classrooms, but for the next week we will be unable to allow volunteers into the classroom before lunch. If you have any questions or prior arrangements, please contact us directly. Also, Ms. Bednar and Mrs. Hauser are still looking for volunteers in May if you would like to assist them!
  • Computer Headphones: Students will need these for the tests. Most students have their own pair from earlier in the school year; if your student has a pair they can bring to school, please have them do so!
  • Computer Mouse: It is very helpful to have a computer mouse as well. We will make them available in the classrooms, but if students have their own they may bring it! Some of ours are a bit battle-worn.
  • Practice & Explore: Students have the option of exploring practice versions of the test(s) online! Visit >>> http://capt.tds.airast.org/student <<< to see example questions and experiment with the tools available.
Fifth Grade has been working hard all year, and I know these students are going to do great on their tests. Thank you for everything this year... see you all on the other side!
