Temecula Valley Charter

Welcome to Fourth Grade!  I am so excited to be given the opportunity to strengthen your child's education through hard work, perseverance, deeper thinking, character building, and of course reading!!!  I have taught at both private schools and district schools, but I feel that I have found my home at Temecula Valley Charter School.  I love teaching fourth grade, and I hope you will share in the adventure with Mr. Hanson and I.  When students come into my classroom, they will be exposed to pigs, Benjamin (my first grandchild), world issues, exceptional literature, and California history.  Hang on, because it can be a wild ride at times.

Summer Reading

Dear Parents,

I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't stress the need for your child to keep reading over the summer.  It could be a book they want to read but is a little beyond their reading level.  Reading it aloud as a family would be a great way to enjoy it. Or perhaps they are ready to try a book they didn't get a chance to read in literature circles.   I've included a link with some suggestions for good books for 4th graders.  Take a look at it and see if something peaks their interest.  Take some time to relax and enjoy the summer, but it would be a good idea to go on ReadTheory or Newsela a few weeks before school and get their brains thinking like scholars again.

Have a great summer!
