Intro Charis White

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! I am thrilled to be teaching 6th Grade at Temecula Valley Charter School again this year.  My subject areas are English Language Arts (ELA) and Social Studies.   This will be my 16th year of teaching and my 8th year at TVCS. It is an incredible privilege to work at such a unique and distinguished school.

A little bit about me...I graduated from Loyola Marymount University in 1994 with a Liberal Studies degree and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential.  I taught elementary school in Hermosa Beach, CA. for eight years before taking time off to focus on my family.   I am happily married to my husband, Eric. He is a Fire Captain for Orange County Fire Authority. Both of my children are proud TVCS alumni.  My daughter is currently a college student, living in Santa Barbara. My son is a high school senior this year.

I am a Southern California native.  I was born and raised in Palos Verdes Estates and have since lived in Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach, Sacramento, Orange County, and Murrieta.  I have been in this valley for nearly seventeen years, and have enjoyed raising my children in such family centered community.

In addition to teaching, some things that I enjoy include time spent with my family and friends, beach days, traveling, reading a good book, working out, walking my dog, entertaining, and cooking.

The last few school years presented many struggles, frustrations, and successes as we grew in ways we never imagined.   "We're all in this together" became the mantra of educators, parents, and students everywhere.  Let's strive to continue the parent/teacher partnership that was born out of sheer necessity as we prepare for the 2022-23 school year.

I look forward to getting acquainted with all of my 6th grade families this year.
