Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! I am thrilled to be teaching 6th Grade at Temecula Valley Charter School again this year. My subject areas are English Language Arts (ELA) and Social Studies. This will be my 14th year of teaching and my 6th year at TVCS. It is an incredible privilege to work at such a unique and distinguished school.
I graduated from Loyola Marymount University in 1994 with a Liberal Studies degree and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. I taught elementary school in Hermosa Beach, CA. for eight years before taking time off to focus on my family. I have been happily married to my husband, Eric, for seventeen years. He is a Fire Captain for Orange County Fire Authority. My children both attend Murrieta Mesa High School. My daughter is a Senior, and my son is a Sophomore (picture to the left is not current). Both of my children are proud TVCS alumni.
I am a Southern California native. I was born and raised in Palos Verdes Estates and have since lived in Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach, Sacramento, Orange County, and Murrieta. I have been in this valley for nearly fifteen years, and have enjoyed raising my children in such family centered community.
In addition to teaching, some things that I enjoy include time spent with my family and friends, beach days, traveling, reading a good book, working out, walking my dog, entertaining, and cooking.
The 2020-2021 school year will be different from any other. We will surely experience many struggles and successes together as we grow in ways we can't even imagine. Let's enter this school year without fear or apprehension. "We're all in this together" has become the mantra of educators all over the country, so let's support one another and give each other grace as we enter these uncharted waters together.
I look forward to getting acquainted with all of my 6th grade families this year.
