good to see everyone again thank you for your time on Friday afternoon we'll try to be relatively brief on the way there now say 5000 times during the meeting to start with questions or concerns so Farm yeah hi Christian's Mom Diana how are you good do you know we're going to open for sure short answer is that his administration plans yes we're planning to reopen the details were still kind of hashing out there is a survey through illuminate if you have not had a chance to fill it out please take a look at it just to share your thoughts on that and what you would like for your family the plan as of right now and mrs. Fisher will help me with this by messing of it up the plan as of right now is Monday Tuesday and Wednesday who said that's why Monday is going to be just like the Mondays we've had this Monday when the looks pretty much identical to the schedule that you're used to will meet with a homerun in the more at 8:30 the kids will switch to the other class at 9 that we've done with that by 9:30 and then there's no Labrador attorney that that they'll just have their asynchronous to work to do so Monday is it look pretty normal Tuesday and Wednesday are going to look exactly the same as Monday we will meet with the kids just briefly in the morning to touch base answer questions take attendance make sure but he's doing okay and then the kids will work independently the rest of the day Monday Tuesday Wednesday why we have teachers prepare because yes Thursday Thursday the plan as of right now is the TV CS will have on-campus students Thursday we are still waiting for a final schedule approval from Administration we are doing what we can they are doing what they can to make sure we minimize changes you have all been very patient with us this year make a lot of adjustments already we're trying not to do a ton more if your student comes to school physically in person if your student stays at home and learns remotely we're going to do everything we can to keep it basically the same as what it's been now we'll find out more next week what that's going to look like and we'll be able to share with you but that's the plan that's the goal that we want they're still going to be working with us so with myself with mrs. fish in one form or another that's not going to change then I can have a different teacher the workload should be very very similar students who are on campus may have some additional activities that they'll be able to do but we're going to do our best to just kind of keep it keep it fun keep it interesting just extensions of what everybody's doing message Tricia what am I forgetting I feel like yeah I think that sounds you know that I I wish we had detailed information but that is the information that we have right now that and our plan right now is that Monday Tuesday Wednesday will meet with students like he said from 8:30 to 9 and then the other class from 9 to 9:30 check in with them give them an overview will work asynchronously the rest of the day and the goal for Thursday is that from PVCs that we will be meeting with students on campus for the air I'm in the p.m. we anticipate that the details of that as far as drop-off and pick-up and out all of those small details will be given to parents through email even throughout the as a zit in full you do I know that there must be a lot of questions from students and from families and as of right now mister laundry and I are both committed to teaching students that are at school and at home concurrently so there should not be any you know major changes there we also anticipate keeping our schedule the same if possible however I guess that's something that we submitted to Administration and they're they're working it in because it's important that we offer our special schedules as you know tdcs offers Performing Arts in an art and PE are trying to incorporate those fairly and distribute those across all grade level is a huge puzzle and I know that admin probably has crossed off sleeping of their to-do list this weekend and we'll Beacon going to work on that so my my best suggestion is maybe check email her out that weekend major details will come from Administration and then as we get our racist deck plans approved will share them with you as well it may make sense this week Mr lingerie and I can post on edlio engage updates of what we know that way you'll get an automatic notification of any new information that's specific to 5th grade that we know and I think that's just about all we can offer at the moment except for the fact that we are up for air when were flexible work cited were or willing to do you know whatever it takes so rest assured that we are 100% committed to whatever this looks like it is it's exciting and it's going to work and it's just it feels odd not being able to give you more details but yeah thank you for asking that's definitely where we wanted to start today hopefully that helps Google it does I just have I was just thinking about this today cuz the kids are of my kids at least you know we've gone to the store or we'll go somewhere for about an hour so they're used to clean air masks on the most is our tops so I was just thinking in class for some reason as they get used to it maybe just for safety reasons if you guys could say something like if one of them needs a breather or something or they don't they feel like you know they they just need a break from it until they get used to it maybe have them raise their hand and they could go outside just for a breather to take it off in go back in and I was just a thought cuz I'd hate for them to feel like they can't you no take just a quick little greeting go outside or or they take it off automatically in the class cuz I don't know you know what I mean and I don't want him to get acting up and you're like what was going on with you like I do for my kids they haven't worn the mass no more than an hour like if I go groceries you know that bring it up and see what you guys thought about that obviously comes down above our pay grade that's coming from the county and from the state but what you're saying giving the kids an opportunity to step outside whether that's in a this room so they have a private place to take the mask off that sort of thing certainly makes sense and from what administration said in the past I believe that they would be supportive of that but I think those kind of fine details of the type of thing we could be talking about his staff next Monday Tuesday and Wednesday so again mrs. Fisher tell me if I'm speaking out of turn my feeling is doing absolutely if they need to step outside and have a breather speaking you know for my own plans I know that I'm I'm just a big fan in general of doing class outside I always have liked to incorporate that as a change of scenery I love it when we do science is relevant and happens to tie in very nicely to both of our novel studies that time so I plan on including outside last time we're lucky that we live in San Diego. We don't live in San Diego Southern California and our weather will allow us to do that that you know if I can plan a classroom outside it's been told that we can do that as long as we're over in a you know separate area I have a special spot over on the field in the corner that has shade that having students work on clipboard is you know of a fantastic idea and seems like it could work really well right now and that could give them an opportunity as long as they're apart to work without their masks get some fresh air so absolutely will be mindful of the fact that probably not many are used to sitting with masks on for 3 hours so we'll definitely make sure that were in tune with their comfortability the students who are on campus will be the plan right now and again it may change my understanding is right now there will be one group of students on Camp from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. we're still finalizing schedule but our ideal between mrs. Fisher and I believe is that for part of those three hours they will be working alarm devices through Xoom similar what we're doing now so that they can interact with students who are still at home there will be time outside of that though again Zoom we don't want to be the entire day so there will be time that the students have exactly where maybe they can step outside where we can work on other things and that would be that would be a great time for those kinds of little micro brakes does bring up another point that you mention the clipboards mrs. Fisher is another we will have more information soon if your students coming back to school there are you want to make sure we're being safe which means that sharing supplies is probably not going to work so there will be a I'm full of things that we might be asking students to bring with them again not asking anyone to undergo any Financial hardships but just putting out into the universe that it may be helpful to have a inexpensive pair of headphones may be helpful for students to have a flat writing surface with it as a binder or a clipboard Dollar Tree is our friend in this case just things like that mrs. Fisher and ideas were planning next week and looking specifically at the kinds of things we want to do what we're going to have time to do will be able to give you a better idea but just kind of putting that out there that for safety we don't really wants to sharing pencils if possible so ensuring that they have pencils I have mechanical pencils at school that we have gotten from the past so I can get students started but just in general making sure that they have a pencil making sure that they have their materials every day is going to be more important than ever again it might be a little early to be mentioning that that's just so that it what's the weather out there interesting interesting and I think that's a good point as we get started and we know the amount of Technology we have available and activities that are working we met add to our supply list I do know that I happen to horde colorful highlighters because we use them a lot so however they will need a highlighter sticky notes just the basic back to school supplies I know that the kids are just simply excited to go back to school shopping don't go overboard but at the basic stencils you know maybe a pack of sticky notes and eraser I hate to send you out to buy things that we're not going to end up using but because we're not sure of our schedule and what amount of Technology we're going to have access to versus what they're going to be needed doing on paper I'm hesitant to even have you get a binder at the so we will have the ability to play some orders if needed question question I think we're going to be bringing their books back and forth daily the thinking is that students will have their backpack or bookbag they'll bring it in class with them they will already have all of their own books in that bag and that's the only place they'll be other when they're working with us so for example exactly the math book they'll bring it they'll use it with me during the day and then just right back in the backpack take home we're not going to have any storage school so there won't be be careful on that one if we have storage at school it will be just unique to that particular student but I don't know what that'll look like so I don't think there will be I would plan on just a backpack brings back I'm rambling is that next I think you question question I have a question as well and I know this is kind of jumping the gun a little bit and cuz we don't next week is going to look in first of all I want to applaud you guys cuz I know you have quite a job ahead of you so I think you will be staying distance learning for right now I'm wanting to kind of prep him a little bit into how next week might work and what I told him to expect is from 8 to 11 you know to be pear resume time but he's not going to be on Zoom the whole time from 8 to 11 cuz I told him just like you know if the kids were there on campus they would get a break so I just want to make sure that that kind of you know what you guys are thinking is also I'm prepping him somewhat accordingly I told all my kids were just going to have a little little more grace next week and just kind of go with the flow but yeah that's kind of sign just have what I'm thinking it's going to look like some kind of guiding in the right direction if we have if we get the approval our goal is to not have their schedule change at all but I'm hesitant to say that because I know that we need to do what works for TV CS is a whole and accommodating for so many factors but we definitely will not ask students who are at home the zoom any more than they are now for sure if the time needs to change a little bit but we won't be asking more of them and we'll get creative and ensuring not only do they have breaks that they have the opportunity to have brakes socially with the students that are in class to further you know to further connections I will never be sharing this video however my seven-year-old thought it would be really funny I busted out the GoNoodle last night and freshened up on my GoNoodle songs and still know all the words to popsico and peanut butter in a cup look like if you know I want to ensure that these kids connected both academically because it's important but socially as well so if that means that you know it's GoNoodle break time and they want to participate they can just know that although we don't have the exact details that we are constantly trying to find him this and ensure that these kids don't have any more of anything and we're going to push even harder to ensure that academically they're connected and socially they're still connected so it's our promise we just don't have all the details I hope that helps a little yes absolutely and feel free to join GoNoodle if you'd like lots of fun that's looking at it as the between 8 and 11 I think is a good way to look at it if I had my way they would have to lessons in the morning just like they do and then they would have two more after lunch like they do now that's what we're asking for something along those lines with it at work who knows if we have to do all 4 in the morning then exactly between that 8 to 11 and we'll make sure that they get the appropriate breaks and things like that because that's still yeah that's too much otherwise so we're getting there we're getting there but it's ya so I unfortunately have not picked Williams MacBook sorry is it still going to be available on Monday but yes I believe the office will continue pulling up I'll be there I'll pull it out in the morning yes it'll be there it'll be there it'll be there I'll make sure I keep the box office has been very kind supporting us with that button. I'll be there I'll make sure that they're out there thank you very good questions hopefully we were able to help a little any other questions or concerns anything else on anyone's mind I will just say real fast for Math and social studies math I'm going to try to keep as normal as possible next week but we will see I did not tell the kids you can if you want there will be no social studies newspaper next week we're not starting in the newspaper for social studies if I have time with them most likely on Thursday and Friday we can discuss some of the concept ran over all ready to send a review as we move more into the United States Constitution I'm not giving anything new so no quiz in social studies on Friday Also I had told some families and some students aftermath everything to be a math test on Friday the 19th or nothing I'm sorry if this I believe it is right games for Math and social studies this week that was it was an old planet the planet sheen so no newspaper no quiz in social studies no math test I will still give them math material to work on and there's things we will do but it's and for planning purposes Ela we're going full steam ahead with our novel study science luckily we're finishing up a unit right now so what next week will look like kind of glad that we have the xability I anticipate it being something hands on something engaging without a whole lot of need to write notes since we won't be together dissipate including videos and that kind of thing. engaged again clearly absolutely no no testing next week for my subjects either and I think this was addressed in a separate but specials are not happening next week either crack they know I got an email for PE and I think someone told me about Performing Arts by so make sure that that's not something to stress about next week either Rec Tec my understanding is that right before we got on there was an email from mrs. Bednar and I'm going to pull it up real quick that's right Miss Bednar said that there's just a video to watch and a project for next week so she did post a video yes next week but it's a video day so the students can log on and then work on that at any time that's can I can tell you that her art projects are so clever and creative that the kids seem to really be enjoying them they want to show them off during Zoom so it looks like there will be a video art project on Monday I have to check into it and see what the due date on that was but it won't have to be at a specific time to join we got to the science project that they did I think the last art project or are they done with those can I can I can you mean the anemometer is not in your garden I would like to second that Miss if you're sure that they kept bringing those to class four days that's I still had a kid with one today Aqueon person that would be measuring just how much hot air on blowing anyway anyway thank you all for being here thank you for giving us part of your Friday anything else we can help you with anything else we can share I don't know? In but I would love to get a little email from you guys of your favorite things things that you like or maybe things you might think you need in class I think caffeine might be on the top of the list but thank you for that I mean even if you want to just send it to me but I would love to know a little list of favorites that's a great idea I said be a great thing to send maybe that everyone yeah I'd like to thank you enjoy are some Legos in super that's right up his alley are grown up in adults pictures of Greg Haughton all right well then we have our homework for us and as we learn more from Administration will share that with all of you but if you have any other questions or anything else you curious about let us know for the weekend and get back to you soon as you can hey thank you thank you thank you there we go
