Description
                                     Mrs. Hauser's PE All Stars!!!

Welcome to TVCS Physical Education!  We are going to have so much fun learning and being active! I want each of my students to understand the advantages and enjoy choosing a healthy and active lifestyle.  It is very important for them to come prepared and ready to participate in each PE activity.

Be prepared for PE days

  • Running shoes (no sandals, boots, etc.)
  • Athletic attire
  • No dresses or skirts (unless shorts are worn underneath)
  • Light jacket/sweatshirt on cold days
  • Filled water bottle

Class will be held indoors if the weather does not permit outdoor activity, but plan to be outside 95% of the time.

Students will be assessed and graded on their participation, attitude, and behavior, not on athletic ability. Good sportsmanship is expected of all students.

  • If your child needs to be excused from a class, please send in a note (the note should include the date and parent's signature).  If the child is restricted from P.E. longer than 2 days, a doctor’s note will be necessary.  A note from parents will excuse them from participation however they will not receive a participation grade for the day. For make-up participation options the student will need to see me. Absences in PE class will need to be made up by completing an activity from the Make Up PE form. This form and directions are always available on my website. Multiple absences could affect your student's PE grade.

Please be sure to subscribe to my PE page on our school website for up to date notifications.

California Physical Fitness Testing
5th and 7th grade

Beginning on Feb. 1, 2018 thru Mar. 23, 2018, 5th and 7th grade students will be taking the California Physical Fitness Test in their P.E. class. Here is a link to the parent guide to understanding the PFT and what is being tested https://www.cde.ca.gov/ta/tg/pf/documents/pgtu-pft.pdf. Test results are one piece of information about how your child is doing in school. FITNESSGRAM results are meant to help students create lasting habits of regular physical activity.

How can you help your child get ready for the test?

  • Talk about the PFT with your child. Make sure they feel supported and not anxious.
  • Tell your child that you and his or her teacher have high expectations and that you are both there to help every step of the way.
  • Help make sure your child engages in 60 minutes of activity every day.
  • Make sure your child gets a good night's sleep and a nutritious breakfast before testing.
  • Look at your child's PFT results to help them plan fitness activities to meet their goals. (results will be available at the end of 2018)

I am in need of parent volunteers on the PFT test days, please let me know if you are available and would like to help out.
