Important ELA Update

Hello Parents and Students,
As I was entering grades this weekend, I noticed that many students did not complete the writing prompt for the homework due 1/16.  It was a five sentence response to a Percy Jackson writing prompt worth 12 graded writing points.  An outstanding score of 0 will be detrimental to overall ELA grade.  Although, it may show up as "missing" in Illuminate now, by tomorrow grade will reflect a 0.
There is also a 12 point graded writing assignment due tomorrow (Perseus).  If you need to access either assignment, all homework is posted on my webpage for you to print from home.
As a reminder, I am always available during lunch to help, and I am very happy to do so.

For students absent week of 1/8-1/12 Social Studies Project

First, Read the Ten Commandments below.

Next, Write a list of your own personal ten commandments.  Use copy paper cut into the shape of tablets.  You may narrow or broaden the ideas expressed in the original commandments or rewrite completely.

See teacher example, but do not copy it please.  The tablets will be glued onto construction paper when they are done.  If you do not have construction paper, you can get it from school.  Decorate as you wish.

The 10 Commandments List (short form)

  2. You shall not make idols.
  3. You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.
  4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
  5. Honor your father and your mother.
  6. You shall not murder.
  7. You shall not commit adultery.
  8. You shall not steal.
  9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
  10. You shall not covet.
