Student-Athlete Leadership Team

TVCS Student Athlete Leadership Team (SALT) and World Games 

*This class includes both Physical Ed and Athletic Leadership and will require physical activity. 


This class will provide student-athletes with an open dialogue and create meaningful conversations to increase leadership skills and positively impact team morale. Some of the topics we will discuss are:

  • Dedication 
  • Optimism 
  • Helpfulness
  • Responsibility 
  • Team over self 
  • Listening 
  • Being assertive 
  • Managing stress
  • Setting the example
  • Communication
  • Sportsmanship

SALT will organize and run lunchtime tournaments, students will be the Coaches, Referees, and Athletic Directors, and we also organize Pep Rallies. (Students may need to be pulled out of regular classes to make this work, but it should only be once a month)


The World Games portion of the class will include:

  • Learning the history of the games
  • Learning the rules
  • Playing the game
  • Analyzing the game
  • Adjusting the rules
  • Creating new games with what we have learned

Application For SALT at TVCS

Thank you for your interest in being part of TVCS’s Leadership classes. Being in SALT gives you the chance to develop your leadership skills through activities planned and run by you and your classmates. It is an important job that requires effort, dedication, and responsibility. It will be rewarding, gives you great memories, and allows you to be involved in your school.

If you are accepted into SALT, you will participate in this class for one semester. You will have the opportunity to make a difference and benefit the lives of every student at TVCS. During the semester, you will be given many opportunities to organize school events and participate in other class activities.

Leadership Requirements:

  • Must have and retain at least a 2.5 GPA. 
  • Must be a role model in both academics and behavior - No major behavior consequences.
  • Must be willing to work hard, be responsible, and help create a classroom environment where everyone works together to accomplish our goals. 

There are four parts to this application:

  1. Sign (student and parent) the Agreement Form saying that you understand your responsibilities as a member of SALT and are willing to work hard.
  2. Have two teachers, that know you best complete the Recommendation Form.
  3. Return your Agreement Form and the two Teacher Recommendation Forms to Coach Hauser.
  4. Schedule your interview.
