Intro Charis White

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! I am excited to be back at Temecula Valley Charter School, teaching 6th Grade. My main subjects are English Language Arts (ELA) and Social Studies. This marks my 17th year of teaching, and I'm entering my 9th year here at TVCS. It's a true privilege to be part of such an exceptional and esteemed school.
A bit about me – I earned my Liberal Studies degree and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from Loyola Marymount University in 1994. I taught elementary school in Hermosa Beach, CA for eight years before taking a break to focus on my family. I am happily married to my husband, Eric, who serves as a Fire Captain for the Orange County Fire Authority. Both of my children are proud TVCS alumni. Currently, my daughter is a college student residing in Santa Barbara, while my son is gearing up for his freshman year at Mt. San Jacinto College after an adventurous cross-country motorcycle journey with his dad, riding from the Mexican border to the Canadian border.
As a native of Southern California, I was raised in Palos Verdes Estates and have lived in various places, including Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach, Sacramento, Orange County, and Murrieta. I have called this valley home for nearly eighteen years, cherishing the family-oriented community as a wonderful place to raise my children.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends, soaking up the sun at the beach, exploring new destinations, diving into a good book, staying active, taking leisurely walks with my dog, hosting gatherings, and trying out new recipes in the kitchen.
The past few school years brought forth challenges, triumphs, and growth beyond our expectations. With new leadership and a fresh beginning at TVCS this year, our dedicated faculty and staff are committed to ensuring a positive and productive school year. Let's unite in partnership as we gear up for the 2023-2024 school year.
I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to get to know all the families of my 6th-grade students this year.

Pathfinder Ranch Open House Flyer

Message from Pathfinder:
Hello,
Our staff are excited for the upcoming Open House this weekend! Don't forget it's this Saturday, March 3 with tours starting at 10:15am10:45am, and 11:15am.  Anyone interested in attending can call our office by tomorrow at 4pm to RSVP and reserve a spot. We'll be here rain or shine, and it looks like a ~60% chance of light to moderate rain in the early morning, so hopefully that clears up by tour time! Despite the news calling for snow in the "mountains", that'll mostly be to the north in the San Bernardino Mountains, not in our range. The highways of 371 through Anza, 74 from Hemet, and 74 from Palm Desert should be clear. This would be a fantastic winter weekend for families to visit the nearby town of Idyllwild after their Open House tour, because Idyllwild is higher in elevation and the parks around town might still have some snow to play in! Sledding might not be an option, but snow angels and snow people might!!!
