AVID

At Temecula Valley Charter School, AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is both a schoolwide initiative and a dedicated middle school elective that equips students with the tools they need to succeed academically and prepare for life after high school.

Whether students dream of college, a career, or exploring their passions, AVID builds the skills and confidence to help them get there. Through this program, students:

  • Learn how to take effective notes and stay organized
  • Build strong relationships and develop personal responsibility
  • Participate in college and business visits to explore future opportunities
  • Set meaningful goals and track their progress

In middle school, AVID helps students develop a strong foundation to enter high school with confidence and purpose. For elementary students, early AVID activities build excitement about the future and encourage fearless engagement with their goals.

AVID Focus Areas:

  • Student Agency: Encouraging intentional action, goal-setting, and relationship-building
  • Rigorous Academic Preparedness: Supporting success in challenging coursework
  • Opportunity Knowledge: Helping students research, plan, and prepare for future transitions

AVID aligns with our mission to prepare students to lead, serve, and thrive in high school, college, and an ever-changing world.
